California Gloating... on such a winter's day...

As a Californian, I sincerely apologize for this card.

Do you detect the teensiest note of schadenfreude in the above image? I can just imagine some complaisant Californian popping this souvenier folder in the mail, snickering "Eat your heart out, Uncle Rodney!" Such gall!

Close your eyes to such pettiness and instead we'll enjoy the bungalow views, shall we?

Judging by the clothes worn by the satisfied gardener below AND the plethora of bungalows, I'd guess the date to be somewhere in the 1910s.

Other views include "A Row of Bungalows," "Bungalow in Mid-winter," Bungalows with river-rock porches bedecked with roses, train rides through the orange groves, loading lumber at L.A. Harbor, (whee!) a man hitched up to a team of Ostriches (?),

...the circular bridge at the Mt. Lowe Railway, a pigeon ranch (?), a lovely flower-bedecked irrigation ditch, pepper trees, Deadman's Island & Angel Gate in the L.A. Harbor, loading alfalfa (?) (what, did they run out of bungalows?), and many, MANY garden views, often with snow-covered mountains in the background.
